Engineering Estimator - Automotive Parts Manufacturer (33925)

An established automotive manufacturing company specializing in interior and exterior components is seeking an Engineering Estimator to join its team in Woodstock, Ontario.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates ranging from entry-level professionals with relevant education to experienced estimators or automotive professionals looking to advance their careers. This is a direct hire, Parment and full time role.

As an Engineering Estimator, you will work closely with customers, engineering, purchasing, process development, and other internal teams to prepare accurate and competitive quotations for new business and engineering changes.

You will have the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge to engineering drawings, cost estimation, customer quotations, and automotive manufacturing programs.

Engineering Estimator Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and feasible quotations for new business opportunities by reviewing engineering drawings using Brava/CATIA and gathering information from purchasing, engineering, process development, and other departments.
• Collaborate with the Engineering team on engineering changes, understanding cost impacts and preparing revised quotations.
• Prepare and submit quotations through designated customer portals.
• Maintain RFQ summaries and follow up with buyers throughout the quotation process.
• Track customer feedback and incorporate lessons learned into future quotations.
• Maintain strong and professional relationships with customers through regular communication.
• Promote the company's manufacturing capabilities to support new business development.
• Ensure accurate invoicing for parts, tooling, and program changes.
• Download and organize production contracts from customer portals and maintain related Excel records.
• Maintain daily task lists and prioritize activities to meet customer deadlines.
• Coordinate closely with internal divisions to ensure everyone has a clear understanding of customer expectations, deadlines, and program activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Engineering Estimator Qualifications:

• Completion of a 2–4 year post-secondary program in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Equivalent education and relevant work experience may also be considered.
• 2 years of experience in inside sales, estimating, quoting, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with cost estimating is an asset.
• General knowledge of the automotive manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Experience with invoicing, quotation preparation, or engineering-related estimating is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet customer deadlines.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing customer and internal requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with WebX or customer portals is an asset.
• Ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional internal teams.
