Electrical Design Engineer

We are currently partnering with a leading Tier 1 electrical contractor delivering multiple major projects across the Sydney Metropolitan area.

We are currently partnering with a leading Tier 1 electrical contractor delivering complex commercial, healthcare, industrial, data centre and infrastructure projects across Australia. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their high‑performing engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on large‑scale projects from concept through to commissioning, while collaborating with experienced engineers, project managers and construction teams in a business known for delivering quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical engineering designs, calculations, drawings, reports and specifications.
• Design LV power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, communications and security systems.
• Complete cable sizing, voltage drop, fault level, protection coordination and earthing calculations.
• Ensure all designs comply with Australian Standards, the National Construction Code and client requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, consultants and site teams throughout project delivery.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning and project handover.
• Review shop drawings, technical submissions and engineering documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, RFIs, value engineering initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 3‑5 years' experience in Electrical Design Engineering.
• Experience across commercial, healthcare, industrial, defence or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, PowerCAD, AGi32, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.
• Current Driver's Licence and White Card.
• Engineers Australia membership (or eligibility), with CPEng highly regarded.
