Overview

In this role you will lead the editorial side of sponsor-supported programs and strengthen the collaboration between the newsroom and Custom Ad Solutions. You will translate commercial opportunities into credible, audience-focused concepts while upholding Ad Age’s editorial standards. You’ll manage review processes, guardrails, and on-stage representation to ensure credible sponsored content.

This position offers impact across content, events, research, and awards, with a clear path to shape how sponsored work serves readers and clients. You’ll be a trusted bridge between teams and a visible spokesperson for the brand.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Custom Ad Solutions to infuse editorial expertise into programs
  • Convert commercial opportunities into credible editorial asks with clear timelines and roles
  • Review sponsor-supported content for relevance, accuracy, and standards
  • Set guardrails on sponsor involvement and newsroom participation; escalate or decline when needed
  • Host and moderate sponsored roundtables, panels, interviews, and webinars
  • Collaborate with editorial, events, and commercial leaders to extend Ad Age rankings, awards, and franchises
  • Improve intake and approval processes to protect editorial capacity and avoid disrupting core journalism
Key requirements
  • Significant experience in editorial partnerships or sponsored content; B2B media a plus
  • Strong editorial judgment to differentiate thought leadership from promotional content
  • Excellent writing/editing across events, moderator materials, articles, and research
  • Proven ability to work with sales, events, legal, and senior leaders
  • Strong project and stakeholder management; ability to clarify ambiguity and move work forward
  • Comfort with clients and executives; experience hosting on stage and on camera
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and timelines with calm, clear communication
  • Knowledge of advertising, marketing, and media or ability to learn quickly
