Data Consultant

What Youll Be Doing (position summary): As a Data Consultant you will design, build, and deliver high-quality data pipelines, models, and analytics-ready datasets. This role leverages expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and PowerBI to build and optimize data pipelines and analytics solutions. The incumbent works with large data sets utilizing Python, PySpark, and SAS, and applies sound data modeling principles to enable effective data management and reporting.

You will partner with business stakeholders to provide reporting, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis, supporting a variety of business functions. How Youll Succeed (responsibilities): Data Engineering: Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Python, SQL, and Databricks. Analytics Enablement: Build decision-ready data models and analytics layers to support reporting and business intelligence initiatives. Reporting & Visualization: Deliver dashboards and reports using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) to influence business decisions.

Data Quality & Governance: Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and adherence to governance standards. Collaboration: Work closely with business partners to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend process improvements.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Engage with CIBC PBB Data and AI teams, Enterprise Advanced Analytics & AI and Platform teams, Enterprise Technology teams, Client Account Management, and other Business teams to deliver integrated data solutions. Works closely with cloud infrastructure and architecture teams to ensure alignment with organizational standards. Partners with external vendors as required for tool integration and support.

Who You Are (skills/qualifications): Must Have Skills: 7+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics roles. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and cloud data platforms (Databricks, Azure). Hands on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, PowerBI, Unity Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
