Data Analyst
PINKVILLA
Job Description
JD – Data Analyst Location: Mumbai Experience: 6–8 years Employment Type: Full-time About the Role We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to drive data-backed decision-making across content, product, marketing, and business teams for our app. This role goes beyond reporting — it involves understanding user behaviour, identifying growth opportunities, and translating data into actionable insights that directly impact installs, engagement, retention, and revenue. This is a high-impact role requiring strong analytical thinking, business context, and the ability to influence decisions across teams.
Key Responsibilities 1) Product & App Analytics Analyse user journeys across the app (onboarding, feed consumption, content discovery, retention). Track and optimise key metrics such as DAU/MAU, retention (D1/D7), session duration, watch time, and churn. Identify drop-off points across funnels (install → first video → repeat usage) and recommend improvements.
Work closely with the product team to evaluate feature performance, experiments, and A/B tests. 2) Content Performance Analysis Track and analyse performance of short-form videos, shows, and content formats. Identify trends in user behaviour including completion rates, binge patterns, repeat views, and category performance. Provide insights on which content types and formats drive higher engagement and retention.
Work closely with the content team to inform content strategy using data-backed recommendations. 3) Marketing & Growth Analytics Analyse performance of app install campaigns across paid and organic channels. Track key metrics such as CPI, CAC, retention cohorts, LTV, and attribution. Identify high-quality acquisition sources based on retention and engagement (not just installs).
Support experimentation across creatives, messaging, and audience segments. 4) Dashboarding & Reporting Build and maintain dashboards for product, marketing, and leadership teams. Standardise key metrics and reporting definitions across functions. Develop weekly and monthly reports covering growth, engagement, and key performance indicators.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all reporting systems. 5) Data Modelling & Insights Perform cohort analysis, segmentation, and behavioural analysis of users. Identify patterns that indicate high-value users and early signals of churn. Support forecasting for installs, engagement, and growth metrics.
Provide scenario-based insights to support strategic decision-making. 6) Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product, Marketing, Content, and Tech teams. Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Support a culture of data-driven decision-making and experimentation across teams.
Key Skills & Qualifications 6–8 years of experience in data analytics, product analytics, or growth analytics. Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets. Hands-on experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, AppsFlyer, Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, CleverTap, or similar.
Strong understanding of app analytics, funnel analysis, cohort analysis, and retention metrics. Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate insights clearly and influence business decisions. Preferred Experience Experience in digital media, OTT, short-form video platforms, or content-driven apps. Understanding of attribution models and mobile app marketing analytics.
Exposure to A/B testing frameworks and experimentation. Basic knowledge of Python or R for advanced analysis (good to have, not mandatory).
