Destec is a diversified mining contractor with a rapidly growing client base, providing ore crushing, screening, and materials handling to the mining industry. We take pride in innovation by designing, constructing, building, maintaining, and operating our own crushing and screening plants for mining sites. Additionally, we provide comprehensive ore processing and materials handling services to the mining industry across Western Australia.
The Opportunity
We are currently undertaking a crushing project at a small iron ore mine site in the Northern Goldfields. We are seeking experienced Crushing Technicians to assist with the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the fixed crushing plant.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily crushing plant inspections
- Monitor and control plant processes and equipment to ensure safe, stable, and efficient operation
- Operate the control room
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks of chutes, scrapers, and vibrating screens
- Plant clean‑up: shoveling, scraping, and sweeping where required
- Operate applicable machines including skid steer, telehandler, and EWP
These opportunities are offered on a full‑time permanent contract, working a 2 weeks on, 1 week off (2:1) roster including day and night rotation.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Crushing plant operating/maintaining experience
- Operations of control room (desirable)
- Skid steer/telehandler experience
- Confined Space Tickets
- Working at Heights Tickets
- A current, valid driver’s licence
Preferred Skills
- Elevated Work Platform
- CN Crane Ticket
- Rigging and/or dogging
