Role Overview

A leading residential developer is seeking a Construction Planner to join its growing Construction & Operations team.

Working across a portfolio of large-scale housing and apartment developments, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and monitoring construction programmes from pre-construction through to project completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner, Site Engineer, Project Engineer, or Assistant Planner looking to develop their career within a residential developer. You will work closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Design, Commercial, and Site Teams to ensure projects are delivered in line with programme objectives and key milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed construction programmes across multiple residential developments.
  • Assist in the preparation of master programmes, phasing plans, and project sequencing.
  • Monitor programme performance and identify critical path activities.
  • Support project teams in maintaining realistic and achievable delivery programmes.

Project Controls

  • Track project progress against key milestones and report on programme performance.
  • Produce short-term look-ahead programmes and progress updates.
  • Assist in identifying programme risks and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Support the implementation of project planning and reporting procedures across live projects.

Construction Coordination

  • Work closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Site Teams, Design, Commercial, and Engineering departments.
  • Attend site progress meetings and carry out regular site visits.
  • Review project progress and update programmes to reflect live site activities.
  • Assist with project handover strategies and construction phasing.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare weekly and monthly programme reports for senior management.
  • Develop planning dashboards and progress reporting tools.
  • Analyse delays and recommend programme recovery strategies where required.
  • Maintain accurate planning records and programme documentation.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure programmes remain aligned with design, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Communicate programme updates clearly to project teams and senior leadership.

Candidate Requirements

Experience

  • 2-5+ years' experience in construction planning or project delivery.
  • Experience within residential construction, housing, apartments, or large-scale building projects desirable.
  • Background as a Planner, Assistant Planner, Site Engineer, Project Engineer, or Construction Engineer considered.
  • Experience using planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or Microsoft Project would be advantageous but is not essential.
