Clinical Nurse Specialist

Clinical Nurse Specialist Closing date: 28 April 2026 Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) – Severe Asthma Service – 12 month fixed term band 6 specialist nurse based at Wythenshawe Hospital. Minimum 2 years experience at band 5 respiratory care setting, confident decision‑maker, forward‑thinking and dedicated. Experience within the NHS essential. Must hold a related advanced respiratory qualification (e.g., respiratory / asthma module). Main duties of the job Provide assessment, treatment, education and support to severe asthma patients and their families, and assist in the development of other healthcare professionals. Work as part of an established multi‑disciplinary team. Qualifications Related advanced respiratory qualification Respiratory/Asthma module Experience Nurse – minimum 2 years at Band 5 in the respiratory care setting Ability to work autonomously Ability to take a role within the multi‑disciplinary team Evidence of patient education to promote autonomy Confident in interpretation of blood results Extensive understanding of inhaled therapies Knowledge of the clinical governance agenda Conducts research and/or clinical audit Awareness of biological therapies and other specialist treatments Non‑medical prescriber Demonstrate an in‑depth knowledge surrounding asthma / severe asthma Proficient in the development of personalised asthma action plans Evidence of delivering teaching / training Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. Salary £39,959 to £48,117 per annum, pro rata.
