POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Applications, the Clinical Applications Analyst for Health Information Management & Identity Modules performs a variety of duties related to the implementation, development, and day‑to‑day support of Health Information System (HIS) application(s) and custom computer applications. This includes responsibility for the efficient design, build, testing and maintenance of HIS application(s). The Clinical Application Analyst liaises with end users and consults Informatics Specialists and Senior Clinical Application Analysts to analyze requirements, identify and investigate potential solutions, assess feasibility of solutions considering available technology, budget and end‑user requirements, and recommend solutions.

The Clinical Application Analyst will learn and support assigned HIS application(s), make recommendations for future enhancements and investigate/correct problems to optimize application use and improve business processes. PROJECT DESCRIPTION St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) and Joseph Brant Hospital (JBH) are embarking on an exciting digital transformation project to implement Epic’s health information system (HIS) at JBH.

In this partnership, JBH will adopt SJHH’s version of Epic’s health information system (HIS), which is branded Dovetale. Both organizations will support the shared instance of Dovetale following the project’s implementation. The project goals are to enable safer patient care, empower healthcare providers and staff, make care more efficient, and improve the overall patient experience at JBH.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS The successful candidate will work closely with subject matter experts and leadership at JBH, SJHH, and Epic to carry out the implementation and actively participate in joint and local committees. While remote work is supported, travel to SJHH and JBH locations will be required to complete project activities. For candidates hired without Epic certification, valid travel documentation is necessary for travel to the United States to complete certification requirements in September to October and/or whenever required.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a relevant clinical field Certification in applicable Epic Clinical Applications considered an asset Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience supporting HIS systems and custom developed applications (preferably in a healthcare environment) Experience in HIS project implementation and support Knowledge and application of project management principles Ability to work in multi‑functional teams Ability to work independently Ability to complete and deliver work assignments on time Effective communication skills Skills in business process reengineering and process flow RESPONSIBILITIES Analyze and review enhancement requests for compatibility and adherence to operating guidelines and perform integration testing Analyze system capacity and modify procedures to solve problems with applications, ensuring that applications and information systems offer the highest possible reliability and performance Provide technical expertise and assistance in reconfiguring, testing and developing, installing, tuning, upgrading and maintaining "department specific" applications Provide technical guidance for evaluation of HIS software applications Support Digital Solutions and hospital project initiatives; provide configuration changes, system testing, and prepare documentation of change specifications; participate in go‑live support Review and discuss business problems with end users as requested, developing flow charts, SBARs, and functional specifications to translate business requirements into technical requirements Prepare and present application status reports and ad‑hoc reports, create test plans, analyze test cases, identify issues, and elevate them to appropriate teams; assist management in interpreting available information Create and maintain documentation on HIS applications and troubleshoot application issues, including changes in build, creation of functional design documents and other relevant documents for end users #J-18808-Ljbffr
