Job Description
Civil Engineer - Land Development & Multi‑Sector Projects
Brisbane or Sunshine Coast | Competitive salary | No BD requirement
Still doing the same type of project on repeat?
If you're a civil engineer who's found yourself stuck in a groove - same sector, same deliverables, same conversations - this might be the move that changes that.
This is a technical role, which means no business development, no chasing work. Your job is to engineer. The variety here comes from the work itself.
What you’ll actually be doing
Land development is the anchor – SEQ residential and urban projects form the core of your workload. But this isn’t a firm that operates in a single lane.
You’ll also get exposure to energy transition and renewables projects, water and wastewater, civil infrastructure, and community and social projects.
Clients include local councils, national contractors, and energy sector operators – the kind of work that keeps you engaged and adds genuine breadth to your CV.
You’ll work directly with an experienced civil team lead – someone who spent years at tier one and two organisations before making the move to a more agile environment.
You won’t be handed projects and left to figure them out; there's genuine technical mentorship here.
The firm itself is a multi‑disciplinary consultancy with around 30 people and offices on the Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane. It’s growing deliberately – targeting around 60 people over the next three years – with new executive‑level hires already coming on board. That growth trajectory matters for your career.
Why are engineers choosing this over the big firms
A few things stand out here that you don’t find everywhere:
- 100% of employees say it’s a great place to work – that’s certified, anonymous feedback, not a tagline.
- Project variety without the bureaucratic layers. You get input into design decisions and direct client interaction.
- A consistent pipeline built on repeat clients – no feast‑or‑famine, no scrambling for the next job.
This firm also takes sustainability seriously – ISO 14001 certified, with carbon offset programs embedded into how they operate. If that matters to you, it’s real here.
One thing worth being upfront about: the role is based in Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast, and while the team is collaborative, this isn’t a big‑city firm with a full social calendar. If you want a focused technical environment where the work is the thing – that’s exactly what this is.
What you’ll need
You’re probably a mid‑senior civil engineer with solid land development experience and the kind of well‑rounded background that lets you move across sectors without losing your footing.
- RPEQ registration – this is a certification‑focused role and RPEQ is essential.
- Strong 12D capability and experience across SEQ land development projects.
- The confidence to take design ownership and engage directly with clients.
Experience across any of the broader sectors – water, energy, civil infrastructure – is a definite bonus, but not a blocker.
