Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Head of School appoints the Business Management & Economics Teacher with input from the Governing Board. The teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning in Business Management and Economics while ensuring that all students are safe, secure, and appropriately supervised. The teacher also contributes to the academic, personal, and social development of students and actively supports the wider school community.
EXPECTATIONS
As an educational professional working in a K–12 international school, the teacher is expected to:

- Possess strong subject knowledge in Business Management and Economics.
- Deliver inquiry-based learning using a variety of instructional and assessment strategies aligned with IB practices.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, IB Coordinators, and school leaders.
- Respect and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school community.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues while maintaining confidentiality.
- Participate in professional development and remain current with educational and subject-specific developments.
- Contribute to school life beyond the classroom through co-curricular activities and school events.
- Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and professional standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the teacher include:
- Deliver high-quality Business Management and Economics lessons aligned with the IB curriculum.
- Plan annual, unit, and lesson plans, assessments, and examinations.
- Monitor, assess, and report student progress in accordance with school and IB assessment policies.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour of all students.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, review, and collaborative planning meetings.
- Meet internal and external academic deadlines and maintain accurate student records.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Maintain an effective and organized classroom environment.
- Participate in school events, co-curricular activities, and professional appraisal processes.
- Carry out supervisory and other duties assigned by the school leadership.
