POSITION SUMMARY

This position in Emerging Markets Business Development, will support the identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic growth and Business Development opportunities across designated emerging markets. The primary focus of this role will be on generics, complex generics, established brands, and mature brands nearing loss of exclusivity (LOE). In addition, the Manager will assist in evaluating select innovative product opportunities that align with the company’s regional strategy and operational capabilities.

This role requires strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and cross-functional coordination. The Manager will work closely with Regional and Local Leaders teams to support transaction execution and ensure opportunities are commercially and operationally viable across diverse emerging markets, source and close deals by themselves.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTION:

  • Source and execute deals accretive to the Business, aligned with Viatris goals and priorities
  • Support outreach efforts to market Viatris as a Partner of choice in the region & globally
  • Maintain regional deal pipeline tracking and reporting.
  • Support identification and screening of opportunities across generics, complex generics, established brands, and LOE assets in emerging markets.
  • Evaluate innovative product opportunities that complement the core portfolio.
  • Assist in financial modeling and valuation analysis (NPV, IRR, scenario modeling).
  • Develop preliminary business cases and opportunity assessments.
  • Summarize risks, assumptions, and value drivers for senior review.
  • Support coordination of cross-functional diligence workstreams.
  • Track diligence deliverables cross-functionally.
  • Assess commercialization viability considering infrastructure, pricing, and access limitations.
  • Support development of recommendations for differentiated or niche opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Regional and Local Commercial teams to align BD initiatives with market needs.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • 4–8 years of experience in pharmaceutical business development, commercial strategy, consulting, investment banking, or strategic finance.
  • Experience in Emerging Markets preferred.
  • Experience in Business Development/Corporate Development/BD-adjacent functions
  • Experience handling in-licensing/out-licensing/B2B
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (risk adjusted DCF, share of NPV, Comps analysis etc.)
  • Understanding of generics, established brands, and LOE strategies in price-sensitive markets.
  • Ability to work across multiple geographies and navigate diverse regulatory environments.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator with ability to synthesize complex information.
