Job Description

As the Business Development Manager at Pomerleau Construction, you are a strategic leader responsible for driving growth and expanding market presence within the construction sector. Working in the senior leadership team, you will develop key account strategies that support the achievement of the business plan. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, forging strong client relationships, and positioning the company as a trusted partner in delivering innovative and sustainable construction solutions.

You will work closely with Operations and Regional Leadership to propel Pomerleau forward. Responsibilities Market Expansion: develop and maintain extensive knowledge of core markets and position Pomerleau’s services to help clients achieve their goals; identify opportunities and build a robust pipeline. Client Engagement: build and nurture long‑term relationships with stakeholders, including developers, architects, engineers, and government agencies.

Strategic Partnerships: identify and negotiate partnerships that enhance service offerings and create mutual value; develop key account strategies that support the strategic business plan. Revenue Growth: develop and execute business strategies that drive profitability and align with corporate goals. Team Leadership: collaborate with cross‑functional teams (estimating, project management, operations) to ensure seamless project delivery and satisfaction; convert prospects into opportunities by facilitating pre‑qualifications.

Qualifications Post‑secondary diploma or degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or business. More than 5 years of experience in the construction industry. More than 3 years of experience in sales and/or business development.

Proven ability to establish profitable relationships with decision‑makers. Experience with the preconstruction process. Firm understanding of risks and rewards related to all construction procurement models (CCDC) in both public and private sectors.

Excellent leadership and collaborative team skills. Willingness to attend industry events beyond typical working hours. Proactive in maintaining relationships with potential future clients.

Experience operating CRM systems. Strong network of local clients and consultants, supplemented by participation in industry committees and professional associations. Benefits RRSP with up to 5% employer matching.
