Job Description
Job Role: Business Analyst Duration: 8 Months (Need to go 3 days onsite in week) Location: Montreal, QC The Data Office Department drives and continuously improves the way data is handled throughout the organization. It looks to satisfy the requirements related to principles for effective enterprise data aggregation and reporting and is intended to support evolving regulatory requirements. The Data Office Department is made up of the following 5 pillars: Data Privacy and protection: protect personal information of clients, employees, and other individuals from third parties.
Data Governance: set the framework for developing and formalizing the “know your data” culture including formal governance forums, Data Management: determine the data strategy for the platform with the objective of identifying and adopting golden sources, capturing, and maintaining data glossaries and dictionaries, business, and functional lineage from source to output as well as managing referential data Data Quality: Set up a framework to assess and report on the data used for reporting purposes and an effective remediation team and data certification and attestation processes. Data Solutions: develops various type of value-added solutions using data Responsibilities The Business Analyst will report to the Canada Chief Data Officer. The role will be supporting data privacy and protection activities.
This will involve reporting functionally to the Data Privacy & Protection Manager. The Business analyst will drive and contribute to the team implementation of the data office framework ensuring its execution and maintenance, as well as working in close collaboration with business partners, technology, and other stakeholders. Data Privacy : Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data privacy procedures, guidelines, and training materials in line with regulatory requirements.
Work with Business and Functions teams to ensure data privacy measures are integrated across all functions and that there is proper governance of personal data. Perform Privacy Impact Assessments to ensure the organization’s data processing activities meet privacy standards. Contribute to the maintenance of the inventory of data processing activities, ensuring proper documentation and categorization of personal data being collected, stored, or shared.
Training and Awareness: Conduct regular privacy awareness training for employees to educate them about best practices and regulatory obligations related to data privacy. Evaluate potential risks related to data processing activities and third-party vendor data handling and recommend mitigations to reduce exposure. Qualifications: TRAINING AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from accredited university 5-7 plus years of professional experience ideally in data governance or data privacy and as a business analyst Preferred experience in data management, governance, privacy, controls, or process improvement.
