BigCommerce Developer

Job Title: BigCommerce Developer (E-commerce Integrations Specialist) Role Overview: - We are seeking an experienced BigCommerce Developer to support the build, customization, and integration of multiple client webstores. This role will play a key part in scaling our e-commerce offering by enhancing our existing template store, implementing new features, and integrating with backend systems such as ERP and shipping/courier platforms. Key Responsibilities Build and deploy client webstores using the BigCommerce platform based on an existing template Customize front-end and back-end functionality to meet client requirements Integrate BigCommerce stores with: ERP systems (inventory, order management, invoicing) Payment gateways (credit cards, Apple Pay, PO workflows) Courier and shipping systems (tracking, fulfillment, rate calculations) Develop and maintain APIs and middleware for system integrations Optimize performance, scalability, and security of e-commerce stores Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across multiple systems Collaborate with internal stakeholders (account managers, operations, design teams) Document technical solutions and maintain development standards Support ongoing improvements to the core store template and feature set Required Skills & Experience:- - Experience working with multi-store or multi-tenant e-commerce environments - Knowledge of B2B e-commerce features (e.g., purchase orders, customer groups, pricing tiers) - Proven experience developing on the BigCommerce platform (Stencil framework, APIs) - Strong proficiency in: JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3 RESTful APIs and web services - Experience integrating e-commerce platforms with our ERP system (Acumatica) - Familiarity with payment gateway integrations (Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc.) - Experience with shipping/courier integrations (e.g., DHL, Shipper HQ) - Understanding of e-commerce workflows (cart, checkout, order processing, fulfillment) - Understanding of data security and compliance (GDPR, PCI) Version control - Experience with middleware / integration platforms (nice to have) - Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Soft Skills - Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines - Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and scalability - Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach
