Job Description
I am currently working with one of the UK’s leading construction contractors, who is seeking a bid manager / senior bid manager to join their well-established team. You will ideally come from a construction or consultancy background and have working knowledge of the following – NEC, JCT, PPC2000 and two stage tendering. This role can be based anywhere in the UK however you will be required to travel to Birmingham once per week. The salary is £60,000 - £80,000 depending on experience plus car / car allowance and benefits. You will be joining a successful team who solely work on framework opportunities, across all sectors. This is a great opportunity to work on large, complex, strategic bids within a highly respected organisation. Duties and responsibilities Lead strategic bids by ensuring bid teams are prepared with the best quality information and resources available Work with the bid team to undertake significant planning, research and preparation to achieve a robust understanding of the market and client drivers Maintain a work winning team of bid management, proposals and writing resource Share knowledge across the wider pre-construction team and maintain seamless links with knowledge management Ensure pre-construction activity keeps pace with industry trends and demands Strategic bids will include standalone high value/complex major projects, national frameworks, new markets and bids that involve the co-ordination and input of multiple business units Management of a team of bid specialists for strategic tenders Responsible for ensuring all necessary pre-work is conducted on strategic bids including identifying win themes and developing capture plans Ensure robust preparation plans are carried out for all strategic bids May be required to lead on certain bids and provide oversight and support to the team on other bids Responsible for leading and engaging in opportunity pre-bid discovery meetings to fully understand clients Develop the bid win strategy to maximise chances of winning including producing bid win themes that align with the aspirations of the client Organise and chair a range of workshops and meetings in order to meet the necessary strategic tender preparation across the business Keeping all stakeholders informed as opportunities progress through the procurement cycle Work with the sector teams to streamline work winning approach to improve success across sectors and gather and share market intelligence to focus and develop sector opportunities and bids Work closely with commercial and finance teams to produce compelling outcomes Identify and develop cross selling opportunities across the business Drive continuous improvement in bidding How to apply To apply for this role or to find out more information, please send a CV to Hayley Wood.
