The Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all beverage operations, including wine, beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks. This role manages inventory, beverage menu development, staff training, vendor relationships, and ensures high-quality service while maintaining profitability and compliance with alcohol regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage Program Management
Develop and maintain beverage menus including cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drinks
Create seasonal cocktails and beverage promotions
Ensure consistency and quality of all beverages served
Inventory & Cost Control
Manage beverage inventory and ordering
Monitor product usage and minimize waste
Control beverage costs and maintain target profit margins
Conduct regular inventory counts
Staff Training & Leadership
Train bartenders and service staff on beverage preparation and service standards
Educate staff on wine, spirits, and cocktail knowledge
Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with laws
Vendor & Purchasing Management
Build relationships with beverage suppliers and distributors
Negotiate pricing and product selections
Coordinate tastings and new product introductions
Operations & Compliance
Ensure compliance with local alcohol laws and licensing requirements
Maintain cleanliness and organization of bars and beverage storage areas
Oversee bar setup, service flow, and equipment maintenance
Financial Oversight
Track beverage sales and profitability
Develop pricing strategies for the beverage menu
Analyze sales trends and adjust offerings accordingly
