Backwaiter

New York Times Three Star restaurant il Buco Alimentari & Vineria, in NOHO, currently seeks Backwaiters.
Known for its in-house market which features housemade salumi, fresh pastas, and fresh bread programs as well as imported cheeses and miscellaneous imported retail products. Alimentari & Vineria food and beverage programs are rustic and inspired creating a unique, high end experience, in a cozy environment. Guests should always feel like we're inviting them into our living room.

As a back waiter you will play a vital role in the service flow and overall guest experience.

Your responsibilities will include assisting the server team to enhance the guest experience, so it is essential to have a genuine appreciation for hospitality and strong communication skills, especially regarding our menus. Your primary tasks will involve assisting servers, clearing and resetting tables, delivering food, and ensuring a positive dining atmosphere for all guests.

Responsibilities Include:

• Anticipate guests’ needs and ensure that service meets/exceeds expectations to ensure a memorable and pleasant dining experience.
• Inspect dining room, table settings, chairs, floors, proper maintenance, cleanliness and safety.
• Table Management
• Food Service Support
• FOH Coordination: communication
• General Support: restocking dining room supplies
• Understanding of DOH standards: maintaining the dining area
• Supporting server team during the busy periods
• Check tables throughout service times for guest satisfaction, and resolve guest issues.
• Maintain knowledge of menu and presentation standards and sound knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Willing to accept guidance in a positive manner and implement the direction in a way that is productive for both you and the team
• Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment

Please note that proven experience as a back waiter at a high-end, fast-paced restaurant is required. RESUME IS REQUIRED.

Physical Demands 

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Standing for 4 to 8 hours per shift with occasional bending and reaching.
• Ability to work in a Restaurant environment with varying temperatures.

Required:

2 years experience in a high-volume, fine-dining restaurant
Flexible availability: Mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Able to maintain a professional, yet welcoming and friendly demeanor at all times
