Our Digital Product and Development team delivers new and improved digital products for residents, staff and businesses in Lewisham.
The team combines product managers, designers, software developers and delivery specialists who work together seamlessly, taking services from concept through to launch in a modern, agile way with the user at the heart of delivery. What’s the role? As an Associate Software Developer you will work with more experienced developers to design, build and deliver a series of high‑quality solutions supporting the council’s adoption of Power Platform.
You will report directly to the Development Manager and assist with all functions of software coding and design. Your primary focus will be to learn the codebase, gather user data and respond to requests from senior developers. A good working knowledge of basic programming languages, a fast learner, and a team player are essential.
This is a permanent opportunity for two positions. Responsibilities Assist in the design, development, and implementation of applications using Microsoft Power Apps. Build workflows and automations with Power Automate to streamline business operations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs. Develop data‑driven insights with Power BI reports and dashboards that support decision‑making processes. Assist with the integration of Power Platform solutions with other Microsoft services such as Dynamics 365, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
Participate in the maintenance and ongoing improvement of existing Power Platform applications. Learn and apply best practices for Power Platform development, including data modelling, security and performance considerations. We operate a hybrid approach: you will work both in the office and from home on a regular basis. Salary £45,852 – £47,925 per annum (PO 2). All appointments will be offered at the minimum salary point for the grade of the role, with the only exception being when current salary (up to the maximum of the scale) is matched, subject to evidential proof.
