PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Assistant Manager – Digital Marketing will lead Plan India's digital marketing function by driving audience growth, engagement, and visibility across digital platforms. The role will be responsible for planning and executing digital campaigns, managing the website and social media ecosystem, optimising digital performance, and leveraging analytics to strengthen fundraising, advocacy, brand awareness, and stakeholder engagement.

The role will work closely with the communications, creative, copywriting, fundraising, and programme teams to deliver integrated digital campaigns aligned with organisational objectives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Marketing and Campaign Management

  • Develop and implement multi-channel digital marketing strategies aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Plan and execute integrated digital campaigns across website, social media, email marketing, and paid media.
  • Support fundraising, advocacy, programme, and brand campaigns through targeted digital marketing initiatives.
  • Manage campaign calendars, budgets, timelines, and performance tracking.


Website and Digital Platforms

  • Manage and maintain Plan India's website, ensuring content is updated, user-friendly, and optimised for performance.
  • Coordinate website enhancements, landing pages, and campaign microsites.
  • Ensure best practices in SEO, accessibility, website performance, and user experience.
  • Work with internal teams and external vendors to implement website improvements.


Social Media Management

  • Manage Plan India's social media presence across key platforms.
  • Develop platform-specific digital strategies and content to grow audience engagement and reach.
  • Coordinate content publishing calendars with the creative teams.
  • Monitor community engagement and support timely responses where required.


Performance Marketing and Analytics

  • Monitor and analyse website, social media, and campaign performance using digital analytics tools.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports and actionable insights.
  • Recommend optimisation strategies to improve traffic, engagement, conversions, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Support paid digital campaigns, including social media advertising and search marketing where applicable.


Email Marketing and CRM Support

  • Manage email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and audience segmentation.
  • Support donor journeys and stakeholder communications through digital marketing automation.
  • Monitor campaign performance and optimise open rates, click-through rates, and engagement.


Collaboration and Coordination

  • Work closely with communications, fundraising, programme, partnerships, and leadership teams to develop integrated digital campaigns.
  • Coordinate with designers, copywriters, agencies, and technology partners to deliver high-quality digital assets.
  • Manage multiple digital projects while ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.


Research and Innovation

  • Stay updated on digital marketing trends, emerging technologies, social media platforms, and nonprofit digital engagement practices.
  • Recommend innovative digital marketing approaches to improve visibility, engagement, and fundraising outcomes.
  • Support the adoption of AI-enabled marketing tools and digital best practices where appropriate.


Process and Digital Governance

  • Establish and maintain digital marketing processes, campaign workflows, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational branding, digital communication standards, data privacy requirements, and accessibility guidelines.
  • Maintain documentation, digital asset organisation, and campaign reporting dashboards.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, content marketing, and audience engagement.
  • Experience managing websites, social media platforms, email marketing, and digital campaigns.
  • Knowledge of SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and social media analytics.
  • Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Google Ads, and email marketing platforms.
  • Experience using content management systems (CMS), such as WordPress.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Good understanding of user experience, website optimisation, and digital accessibility.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted marketing tools and digital automation platforms will be an advantage.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Mass Communication, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in digital marketing, digital communications, or digital campaign management.
  • Experience managing websites, social media, digital advertising, analytics, and email marketing.
  • Experience in the development sector, nonprofit organisations, social impact organisations, or digital agencies will be preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, HubSpot, or similar digital marketing platforms will be preferred.
