Assistant Manager – Service Station Operations
About The Role
Are you a dynamic leader ready to take the reins of a busy service station? We're seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to lead daily operations, manage our team, and deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. You'll work as part of a management team of three, ensuring seamless seven-day operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and service quality.
What You'll Do
Store Operations & Customer Service
- Manage all register operations and ensure prompt, courteous service during peak and off-peak periods
- Execute opening procedures (5:00 AM start) including hot food preparation, fuel dips, and store setup
- Execute closing procedures including cash reconciliation and secure store shutdown
- Oversee our busy fried-food service, maintaining quality standards and rapid replenishment during surges
- Respond professionally to customer inquiries and complaints
Leadership & Staff Management
- Supervise and mentor 3–4 Console Operators and Driveway Attendants per shift
- Delegate tasks effectively and maintain clear, consistent direction across all departments
- Lead by example with a hands-on approach—willing to jump in and perform any task
Fuel, Inventory & Cash Management
- Monitor fuel sales and drive-offs; perform accurate daily fuel dips and maintain meticulous records
- Conduct regular stocktakes and manage merchandise pricing and stock levels
- Reconcile daily cash banking, process coin requests, and ensure secure bank delivery
- Oversee warehouse, freezer, and beverage refrigerator organisation
Food Safety & Compliance
- Oversee safe food preparation and handling procedures
- Ensure regular temperature checks of all refrigeration units and maintain records
- Prepare and oversee sushi preparation when scheduled
- Report equipment issues immediately and enforce all safety and security procedures

- Attention to detail: Accuracy in cash reconciliation, record-keeping, and compliance documentation
Desirable Qualifications
- Nationally Accredited Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
