Application Developer

A product-led SaaS business is hiring a Senior Back End Engineer to help build and evolve its platform, with a strong focus on modern AI-assisted development workflows. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is already leveraging AI engineering tools day to day to improve speed, quality, and output. The environment is TypeScript / JavaScript heavy , with some legacy PHP , so you will be working across both modern and existing systems while helping move the platform forward.

Role: Senior Back End Engineer Salary: Up to £70,000 Location: Fully remote, UK-based What you’ll be doing: Building and maintaining backend APIs and services across a modern TS / JS stack Working alongside legacy PHP systems, helping evolve and modernise the platform Using AI engineering tools to accelerate development, debugging and delivery Designing scalable services and clean system boundaries Integrating third-party APIs including AI, analytics and external services Collaborating closely with product and UX teams to shape features early Contributing to architecture decisions and technical direction What you’ll need: Strong commercial backend engineering experience Solid experience with TypeScript and JavaScript in production environments Experience working with or alongside PHP systems Active, hands-on use of AI engineering tools such as Claude, ChatGPT or similar in your development workflow Strong API development skills and understanding of system design Experience integrating third-party services and APIs Comfortable working in fast-moving product environments What’s on offer: Salary up to £70,000 Fully remote working within the UK Opportunity to work in an AI-forward engineering environment High ownership role with influence on technical direction A modern product environment with ongoing platform evolution This role would suit an engineer who is already embedding AI into their development workflow and wants to work in a team where that approach is expected, not optional.41bf1e1f-b16b-4260-a40a-17c77a06fd15
