Application Analyst

Location: Milton Keynes – (Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office)

Reporting to: Senior Application Analyst

Role

The Product Development team plays a pivotal role in delivering the overall digital experience for customers and colleagues. The Application Analyst sits within an internal product team delivering digital solutions to Rightmove’s internal teams. Working as part of an Agile/Scrum squad, the analyst shapes requirements, designs solutions and supports delivery, including configuration and improvement of business applications, third‑party systems and low‑code platforms.

Typical Week

  • Work with end users and stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points and requirements.
  • Map processes and identify opportunities to simplify workflows, improve data quality and leverage technology.
  • Build practical solutions using low‑code platforms, including applications, workflows and automations.
  • Customize and enhance third‑party systems to support business processes.
  • Use SQL to query, analyse and support changes to data across Rightmove’s applications.
  • Automate manual processes with UiPath or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with Product Manager, Software Engineers and QA Engineers to agree the best approach.
  • Share progress regularly with the team and end users, refining solutions based on feedback.
  • Support testing activities across the sprint, validating changes and ensuring fit‑for‑purpose solutions.

Essential

  • Background in customizing and enhancing third‑party systems such as ERP, legal or HRIS platforms.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access or similar business applications.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying, interpreting and working with data.
  • Experience learning how a software platform works and using that knowledge to deliver change.
  • Experience improving internal processes and driving operational efficiency.
  • Understanding of BPMN or similar process‑mapping approaches, with ability to design and implement workflows that improve business processes.
  • Experience working with end users to understand current processes, pain points, requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Ability to break down ambiguous business problems into clear options, actions and delivery requirements.
  • Experience using collaboration and delivery tools such as Confluence, Jira or similar.
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum team.

Desirable

  • Experience translating user needs into clear tickets, acceptance criteria, process notes or configuration requirements for a wider delivery team.
  • Confidence facilitating conversations with stakeholders to agree scope, priorities and trade‑offs.
  • Experience building or configuring low‑code solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio or similar.
