Job Description
Due to internal promotion, an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Alcohol Specialist Nurse is available. The alcohol specialist nurse team is based at Liverpool University Hospital NHS Trust and is an integral part of the Department of Gastroenterology as part of the Liverpool Community Alcohol Service (LCAS). You will be employed by Liverpool University Foundation Trust and based in both the acute and community settings.
The role will involve treating patients with alcohol dependence, liver disease, and cognitive impairment in nurse‑led clinics across primary and secondary care. There will also be the opportunity to undertake specialist clinical procedures such as fibroscanning. Responsibilities Assessment and treatment of alcohol‑related problems using pharmacotherapy.
Conducting fibroscanning and other specialist clinical procedures. Providing nurse‑led outpatient services in acute and community settings. Working autonomously and liaising with community partners and specialist services.
Qualifications Registered Nurse with at least 2 years’ experience working in an acute hospital. Evidence of working autonomously. Good clinical skills and a positive, caring attitude.
