The Role

We are looking for an Accounts Manager to own our accounting function end to end — books, statutory compliance, and marketplace reconciliation — for a fast-growing D2C brand selling across our own website, marketplaces, and quick-commerce platforms.

This is a hands-on accounting ownership role, not an FP&A or business-partnering position. We are looking for someone who takes pride in books that are clean, compliance that is never late, and reconciliations that are complete to the last rupee. You will be the person who knows exactly what every platform owes us and why.

Key Responsibilities

Marketplace & D2C Reconciliation

• Reconcile sales, settlements and payouts across Shopify, Amazon, Nykaa, Tata CLiQ, Myntra and quick-commerce channels including Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart.
• Reconcile payment gateway and COD collections against orders and bank credits.
• Map orders, returns, RTO and RTV to the books at order level so revenue and receivables are accurate.
• Verify commission structures, logistics and marketing charges billed by each platform against agreed rates.

Claims & Deduction Recovery

• Identify and recover short payments, excess commissions, and incorrect logistics or marketing deductions.
• Raise and track claims for lost, damaged or non-received shipments, RTO and RTV mismatches, and SPF on failed orders.
• Claim seller incentives, coupon reimbursements and event-related payouts due to us.
• Maintain a live claims tracker and report monthly on amounts identified, claimed and recovered.

Core Accounting Operations

• Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Run monthly and year-end closing to a fixed calendar.
• Handle vendor settlements, ledger reconciliation and ageing analysis for both receivables and payables.

Inventory & Revenue Accounting

• Account for inventory across our own warehouse and marketplace or 3PL fulfilment locations.
• Reconcile stock movement, returns, shrinkage and inventory loss against books.
• Apply correct revenue recognition across channels.

Statutory Compliance

• GST: prepare and file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B, reconcile GSTR-2B for accurate ITC, file annual returns, and manage e-invoicing and e-way bills.
• TDS: deduction, challan deposit, quarterly returns, and issuance of Form 16A.
• Income tax and other statutory filings, with timely responses to department notices alongside our consultants.

Reporting

• Prepare financial statements and cash flow statements.
• Produce a monthly MIS covering channel-wise sales, collections, deductions, recoveries and ageing.
• Provide accurate and timely inputs for budgeting and cash flow planning.

Audit, Controls & Coordination

• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks and regulatory authorities during audits and assessments.
• Work with operations and supply chain to resolve inventory and settlement discrepancies.
• Document and maintain accounting SOPs and internal controls, and keep records audit-ready.

Requirements

• B.Com or equivalent finance degree; M.Com or MBA (Finance) preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience, of which at least 3 years must be in-house at a D2C, consumer brand or e-commerce company. Experience gained solely at a CA firm, accounting agency or BPO will not be considered.
• Hands-on marketplace reconciliation — you must have independently worked with platform settlement reports, not only received summaries from someone else.
• Working proficiency in Zoho Books or si ilar, plus advanced Excel.
• Sound knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST and TDS.

Good to have

• Quick-commerce channel accounting (Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart).
• Experience in home, furniture, textile or lifestyle categories.
• Exposure to export documentation and remittances.
