What We’re Looking For The Accounting Manager oversees the company’s financial operations, ensures compliance with Canadian accounting standards, and supports government‑regulated reporting requirements.

This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented accounting professional with experience in technology, manufacturing, or defence contracting environments. You are part of a small team to manage month‑end and year‑end processes, and partner with operations, engineering, and program management to support accurate financial tracking and reporting across projects and organizational activities. This position is required to be on site in the Ottawa office 5 days per week.

Duties Responsible for all day‑to‑day accounting operations, including the accuracy of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll operations. Oversee monthly and annual financial close processes. Ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations, including GST/HST, and SR&ED‑related documentation.

Build and maintain financial models to prepare rolling forecasts, support strategic initiatives, new investments and growth opportunities. Primary contact for various banking institutions (bank accounts and credit cards). Maintain and monitor cash management and cashflow.

Prepares annual corporate tax returns for both Canadian and US corporations. You have Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a combination of education/experience will be considered. Experience supporting key accounting functions.

Working towards or holds a CPA Designation. Advanced knowledge of Excel and other accounting related software. Strong knowledge of cost accounting and project‑based financial management.

Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Clear and professional communication skills with a high degree of discretion. A Canadian security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
