Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
- 1. Responsible for monthly invoice payments.
- 2. Approves expense reports.
- 3. Assists in closing Merit financial records.
- 4. Processes sales tax returns.
- 5. Assists in researching and solving problem accounts.
- 6. Prepares month end reports for use by the department in month-end balancing.
- 7. Works with other employees to assist them in completing projects and tasks within the department.
- 8. Performs a variety of other accounting tasks, as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalency.
- A minimum of one year of responsible accounting experience.
- A broad knowledge of accounting and financial control principles and their business applications.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in performing accounting tasks.
- Demonstrated human relations and effective written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated computer skills, preferably spreadsheet, word processing database, and other applicable software programs.
