Accountant AND CASHIER

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant and Cashier role based in Chennai. The role involves managing daily cash and card transactions at the store, issuing bills and receipts, and maintaining accurate cash registers and payment records. The Accountant responsibilities include recording financial entries, reconciling accounts, preparing basic reports on sales and expenses, and supporting inventory and vendor payment tracking.

The Cashier responsibilities include handling customer payments, processing refunds or exchanges in line with store policy, and ensuring a smooth checkout experience. The role also requires close coordination with the store management team to support audits, maintain proper documentation, and uphold financial compliance and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting fundamentals, including ledger posting, basic bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
• Cash handling experience, with accuracy in managing POS systems, daily cash counts, and payment settlement.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting or billing software; comfort with using computers and digital tools.
• Attention to detail and numerical accuracy, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Tally is preferred 
• Integrity and reliability in managing financial transactions and confidential information.
• Previous experience in retail, fashion, or a similar customer-facing environment is an advantage.
• Relevant educational background in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
