Job Description
School Manager – School of Stage & Screen Part-time, 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE), Tuesday – Thursday. Salary Scale: £37,880 per annum (pro‑rate £22,728). We are looking for a highly‑organized, dynamic and efficient school manager who will be responsible for providing efficient operational support to the Director and Deputy Director of Stage and Screen and the wider School of Stage & Screen.
The role focuses on effective engagement with Heads of Programme and programme teams within the School and acts as a central coordination point between academic teams and professional services, ensuring timely communication, shared understanding and aligned processes across the School. Responsibilities Ensure effective coordination and compliance of School quality assurance requirements within the Academic Committee Structure. Support Heads of Programme through key academic and regulatory processes.
Develop and maintain centralized documentation and School‑level resource sites to ensure consistency and reduce operational risk. Undertake operational and logistical planning responsibilities for the delivery of key School‑ and RCS‑wide initiatives as set out by the Director of Stage and Screen and the Conservatoire Senior Management Team. Schedule and support key sessions throughout the academic calendar including Progress Committees and Board of Examiners for UG and PG programmes, School Planning Days/Week, Staff Training and Development, Disciplinary Hearing Panels, ad‑hoc working groups/away days, external visits, meetings and events.
Qualifications Demonstrable experience of administration within an HE setting at a senior level. Understanding of confidentiality requirements of working with a senior team and ability to work autonomously. Significant experience of reviewing systems and processes with strong organisational skills.
