Overview AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a growing team at one of our office locations in Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto‑GTA, Sudbury, Winnipeg, Calgary or Vancouver. The role focuses on the electrical design and execution of National Defence projects, including building upgrades, base infrastructure, training centers, vehicle maintenance, research laboratories, operational headquarters, personnel accommodation, and ancillary facilities. Responsibilities Lead the electrical engineering commitments in accordance with scope, schedule, budget, and procedures to ensure successful project completion.
Resolve complex design and project execution issues, developing innovative solutions and applying project management principles. Manage electrical staff resources assigned to projects, mentor continuous development, and participate in recruiting new team members. Provide technical guidance and quality assurance to electrical staff to ensure technical adequacy of electrical engineering project work.
Participate in the preparation of estimates and project proposals, and approve the estimates for Electrical Engineering. Lead and manage the delivery of electrical design and systems in multi‑disciplinary projects from preliminary design through completion. Develop new business and support the growth of the National Defence market.
Maintain existing client relationships and develop new clients, coordinating work with other offices and disciplines to satisfy customer expectations and requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.
Eng.). 10+ years’ experience in electrical consulting, with significant exposure to National Defence projects. Knowledge and application of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable industry and regulatory standards. Experience in a consulting engineering environment, managing time, resources, and budget allocations.
Strong client focus, including initiatives for business development, marketing, and responding to RFPs. Willing to travel occasionally to project sites within Canada. Ability to obtain CISD Level II (SECRET) Clearance.
