Job Description

Técnicas Reunidas Canada E&C inc. is part of the Técnicas Reunidas Group, a global leader in engineering, procurement and construction services for energy and large-scale industrial projects. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical/Metallurgy Engineer to join our engineering project team. The successful candidate will participate in the detailed engineering phase of large-scale Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects across Alberta and British Columbia, applying metallurgical and mechanical expertise to specify, review, and approve materials and mechanical designs while ensuring full compliance with applicable regional codes and industry standards.

Participate in and oversee the development and finalization of detailed mechanical engineering designs, equipment specifications, and material selection reports for major EPC projects. Review, approve, sign, and seal professional engineering documents, including mechanical data sheets and material selection reports for static equipment (pressure vessels, tanks, and heat exchangers) and dynamic equipment (pumps, compressors, and turbines). Ensure strict compliance with provincial regulatory requirements, including those of the Alberta Boilers Safety Association (ABSA) and Technical Safety BC. Review vendor documentation and detailed fabrication drawings to ensure alignment with project specifications and metallurgical standards. Coordinate mechanical and metallurgical design activities with piping, process, civil, and quality assurance disciplines to resolve complex technical issues during the detailed design phase.

Support construction and procurement activities by resolving site queries, evaluating material substitutions, and providing technical bid evaluations for specialized equipment. Mentor engineering staff on regional code requirements, material degradation mechanisms, and fabrication standards. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Metallurgical, or Materials Engineering from an accredited university required; master's degree preferred.

Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with APEGA (Alberta) and/or EGBC (British Columbia) is required. Reasons to Join Our Team Be part of a global organization delivering cutting-edge energy and industrial solutions. Work on impactful projects that shape the future of energy in Canada. Collaborative and supportive work environment with room for professional growth.
