DBT Engineer (Databricks) Full-Time/Permanent Pune, India (REMOTE) About the Role Plumlogix is seeking a highly skilled DBT Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building and optimizing modern data pipelines using DBT (Data Build Tool) and Databricks. This individual will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ELT/ETL solutions that transform raw data into trusted, business-ready datasets for reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Business Intelligence teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions in a cloud-based environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data transformation workflows using DBT. Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines within Databricks and modern data platforms.
Develop and maintain reusable, well-documented DBT models, macros, tests, and documentation. Create and manage data models that support analytics, reporting, and operational use cases. Implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, and automated testing processes.
Optimize SQL queries and data processing jobs for performance and scalability. Work with structured and semi-structured datasets from multiple source systems. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices. Support CI/CD processes and deployment automation for data pipelines. Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis across the data ecosystem.
Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a related role. 2+ years of hands-on experience with DBT (DBT Core and/or DBT Cloud). Strong experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write complex and optimized queries. Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments. Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
Experience with Git-based version control systems. Experience working in Agile development environments. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with PySpark and Python development. Experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows. Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Prefect, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with modern cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for data engineering projects. Understanding of Medallion Architecture, Data Vault, or Kimball methodologies.
Experience with data observability and monitoring tools. Databricks, DBT, AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications are a plus.
