SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST – CALGARY (CAT) We are seeking Senior Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team, with a core focus on divisional support and operational reporting and planning. This role will act as a strategic finance partner to divisional leaders, bridging the gap between financial data and business decision-making.
You will be instrumental in driving financial clarity, delivering insights, and supporting long-term planning for our operations. Responsibilities: Divisional & Operational Support Ensure that Trican's core value, "Safe equipment and operations" is the priority in all activities Act as a finance business partner to divisional leaders by translating financial data into actionable insights that guide operational decisions Prepare and present monthly financial performance reports, including variance analysis, key business commentary and driving follow-up with operational leaders Own and lead the development of divisional operating and capital budgets, forecasts, and scenario modelling, ensuring alignment with corporate planning cycles Partner with divisional operations, engineering and sales teams to provide financial leadership and guidance on bidding and estimating and operational planning and analysis Produce detailed customer profitability analyses to assess performance and trends Monitor KPIs and industry trends to identify opportunities, risks, and performance improvement initiatives Drive accountability for financial performance by identifying gaps and partnering with leaders to execute improvement initiatives Financial Analysis & Reporting Deliver in-depth P&L and performance analysis, translating financial results into strategic insights for both divisional and senior leadership Develop advanced financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases to support strategic initiatives, capital investments and operational decisions Collaborate with cross-function teams to ensure accurate forecasting and timely reporting Contribute to refinement of internal financial reporting tools, dashboards, and processes Contribute and actively embrace ongoing change as Trican continues to evolve systems usage with transition to Oracle ERP Develop forward-looking and predictive analyses to anticipate financial performance and operational outcomes Drive continuous improvement of reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools to enhance decision support capability Experience & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred; equivalent programs considered CPA designation or progress toward one preferred; CFA or MBA is an asset 5-8+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, operational finance/accounting, or business partnering roles Advanced financial modeling skills and high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of operational and financial drivers Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making at senior operational levels Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy Collaborative and professional communication style with strong interpersonal skills Proven problem-solving abilities in complex situations Adaptable, able to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated with a track record of delivering high-quality work independently Knowledge of the oil and gas and/or energy services sector is an asset Experience with Oracle ERP and analytics, Microsoft Power BI or similar analytics tools is a plus What Makes Us Attractive: Values-driven organization Employee’s choice for full coverage or flexible benefits plan RRSP Matching Program $2,000 annual mental health coverage Employee Referral Bonus Program Access to the Employee and Family Assistance Program UFA & Petro-Canada fuel discounts Transit Pass reimbursement program Onsite gym exclusive to Trican employees Community involvement through sponsorship of local events Inclusive Social Club offering a variety of activities Demonstrated commitment to an equitable and inclusive workforce driven by our Diversity & Inclusion Philosophy and our Indigenous Peoples Policy Focus on safety, training and development Career advancement opportunities Working Conditions: Regular office hours, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm How To Apply: Website: www.TricanWellService.com
