Senior Trust & Estate Consultant – CIBC Private Wealth Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia Employment Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Hours: 37.5 per week What You’ll Be Doing As an essential member of CIBC Private Wealth, the Senior Trust & Estate Consultant works in a team environment to provide estate and trust solutions to clients. Your responsibilities include: Business development and delivery of estate and trust services in your assigned region. Collaborating with internal partners and external centres of influence to grow the estate and trust business.
Providing clients with holistic estate planning. How You’ll Succeed Business Development – Close sufficient new business to meet sales targets for agency and fiduciary appointments; proactively build partnerships with local representatives, lawyers, accountants, and other centres of influence; create and implement a regional plan for sourcing business and raising awareness of CIBC Trust products; assess new opportunities, gather needed information, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies. Relationship Building – Refer beneficiaries to CIBC partners to keep funds within the bank; prepare accurate monthly reports on business development activities; work with CIBC Trust partners to onboard new clients smoothly.
Provide Solutions – Deliver Trust & Estate services within your region; provide trust training sessions to partner audiences and participate in client seminars; keep abreast of legislative changes, jurisprudence, and industry trends to provide best solutions. Who You Are 5+ years of experience in estate and trust administration or the financial services industry. In-depth knowledge of legislation and regulations related to estates and trusts.
Proven sales and business development track record. Post‑secondary degree and relevant professional accreditations such as Member, Trust Institute (MTI) or Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP); allied qualifications (LL.B., C.A., CFP, PFPC) are an asset. Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and relationship‑management skills.
