Mechanical Engineering – Project Engineer We are seeking a self‑motivated, hardworking Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Winnipeg office. Coordinate with other disciplines internally and with external consultants and architects. Prepare contract documents including specifications. Conduct site visits during construction.
Work with the field review team during construction and ensure ASHRAE compliance and LEED where applicable. Update the schedule regularly as agreed for the project. Evaluate shop drawing reviews.
Provide the Project Manager with status reports. Escalate resource issues to the appropriate Project Manager. Assist in sourcing new work and maintaining existing client base.
Qualifications, Experience and Education Post‑secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline such as Building Systems. Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility for licensing in the Province of Ontario. 10+ years of engineering and/or design coordination experience in the consulting industry. 10+ years of experience implementing design/engineering concepts through preparation and production of drawings and schematics for electrical systems in healthcare, hospitality, commercial, institutional, residential, public and private facilities. Required Skills Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is an asset.
Comprehensive knowledge of current engineering principles and practices, with strong knowledge of project management concepts. Experience conducting site visits is an asset. Ability to communicate ideas and recommendations to non‑engineer team members clearly.
Knowledge of Canadian/American engineering standards. Effective communication, verbal and written, with all levels of the organization including executives. Excellent time management and project management skills.
