QA Analyst/Engineer (Manual & Automation) Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia (Hybrid) Employment Type: Contract About the Role We are seeking an experienced QA Analyst/Engineer with expertise in both manual and automated testing to support our Digital Platform Team's portfolio. In this role, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of web applications, web content, and mobile experiences across our digital channels. You will work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment, contributing to the design, development, and execution of automation solutions that drive continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate brings a strong testing mindset, hands-on automation skills, and the ability to balance independent execution with effective teamwork in a hybrid setting based in Halifax. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, maintain, and execute automation scripts for Digital Channels projects, incorporating QTS Automation Solutions Service โ Engagement & Operating Model. Perform comprehensive manual and automated testing across web applications, web content, and mobile platforms.
Plan and conduct performance testing to validate scalability, responsiveness, and stability under load. Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with project requirements. Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution, working closely with developers and business stakeholders.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster release cycles. Analyze test results, provide clear reporting on quality metrics, and recommend improvements to testing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to ensure quality is built in at every stage of the delivery lifecycle.
Required Qualifications Minimum 7 years of experience as a QA Analyst or QA Engineer with a strong background in both manual and automated testing. Hands-on experience automating tests for web applications, web content, and mobile platforms. Proficiency with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress, or similar).
Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, or comparable). Solid understanding of QA methodologies, the software development lifecycle, and Agile practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Banking or financial services domain experience. Experience working within enterprise digital platform or digital channels environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., Jenkins, Git). Scripting or programming experience (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript). Exposure to API testing and related tools.
