Logistics Manager

Logistics Manager – Construction Materials Exact Match is a strategic recruitment firm focused on connecting experienced Professions with exceptional Employers across Canada and the USA. Our client, a large, Canadian supplier of raw materials in the construction and infrastructure domain, is looking to hire an experienced Logistics Manager to join their team. In this role you would be responsible for the planning and coordination of logistic operations for the company.

Responsibilities: Develop logistics plans and contingency strategies Plan, schedule and coordinate deliveries to customer job sites Oversee loading and unloading activities, including ports, yards and job sites Supervise preventative maintenance procedures, including pre/post trip inspections Monitor inventory levels and maintain records for materials in transit and on site Resolve delivery issues and ensure stakeholders are updated on status Coordinate with Operations teams on handling, storage and distribution of materials Hire, lead, coach and support staff Ensure staff training is completed, including H&S, operational procedures and other competencies as required by position Evaluate, negotiate contracts, coordinate and manage transportation vendors Education and enforcement of health and safety regulations, best practices and company policies & procedures designed to promote safe work environment Support continuous improvement initiatives Manage logistics budget Qualifications: Degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain or related discipline Certifications in logistics or supply chain preferred 5+ years of logistics leadership experience in construction, raw materials, aggregates or related space Proven staff management experience Strong knowledge of Ontario’s transportation laws Experience with international shipping, including seaway, ports, customs Proficiency with office productivity tools, including word, excel, outlook Environment Primarily working in the office, with occasional trips to yards and customer sites Occasionally requires extended hours
