Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Madrigalâs medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THRâβ agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH.
Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c). Our success is driven by our people.

Director, Medical Society Relations & Alliance Development In the Corporate Communications and Patient Advocacy department, this key leadership role will drive the companyâs enterprise-wide strategy for engagement with medical societies and professional associations while guiding crossâfunctional communications strategies for major medical congresses.
The Director will position Madrigal as a trusted, science-driven partner in shaping standards of care, advancing disease awareness, and supporting evidence-based policy development. Operating at the intersection of Corporate Communications, Public Policy, Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Executive Leadership, this individual will ensure that Madrigalâs external partnerships enhance corporate reputation, strengthen stakeholder trust, and support longâterm business objectives. Key Responsibilities Corporate Affairs Strategy & Reputation Leadership Develop and execute a comprehensive medical society engagement strategy aligned with Madrigalâs corporate communications, advocacy, public policy, and enterprise priorities.
Position Madrigal as a credible and responsible partner in advancing patient care and clinical standards. Integrate society engagement into broader corporate reputation and stakeholder trust initiatives. Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on professional society dynamics, risks, and opportunities.
ExecutiveâLevel Relationship Management Build and maintain seniorâlevel relationships with national and international medical societies, guideline and standardsâofâcare committees, professional advocacy organizations, and clinical research alliances and consortia. Support executive engagement planning for major congresses and policy meetings. Represent Madrigal in highâvisibility society leadership forums and external advisory settings.
Policy & Guidelines Impact Monitor evolving clinical guidelines and society policy positions relevant to Madrigalâs therapeutic areas. Partner with Public Policy and Medical Affairs to inform responsible engagement strategies around standardsâofâcare discussions. Identify opportunities for collaboration that support evidence-based medicine and appropriate patient access.
Provide internal intelligence on emerging trends, stakeholder sentiment, and potential reputational considerations. Alliance Development & Governance Identify and structure strategic partnerships that advance shared goals in disease education and awareness, health equity and access initiatives, scientific exchange and research collaboration, and public health campaigns. Lead crossâfunctional governance of society partnerships, ensuring compliance, transparency, and alignment with industry codes.
Oversee budgeting, investment prioritization, and performance metrics for society engagement activities. CrossâFunctional Integration Partner closely with R&D Communications, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs & Policy, Commercial Leadership, Patient Advocacy, Investor Relations (as appropriate), Legal & Compliance. Ensure consistent external positioning and messaging across stakeholder engagements.
Align congress strategy, sponsorships, and corporate visibility efforts with enterprise objectives. Qualifications Required Advanced degree preferred (MD, PharmD, PhD, MPH, JD, or MBA). 12+ years of experience in Corporate Affairs, Public Policy, Medical Affairs, External Affairs, or strategic partnerships within biopharma. Demonstrated experience engaging senior leadership of medical societies or professional associations.
Strong understanding of industry compliance standards governing corporateâsociety interactions. Proven executive presence with ability to represent the company in highâlevel external settings. Preferred Experience supporting guideline engagement strategy.
Background in hepatology, metabolic disease, or specialty care environments. Experience integrating stakeholder engagement with broader reputation or policy strategy. Established professional network within relevant medical societies.

Impact of the Role This role will directly shape how Madrigal engages with influential medical organizations that define standards of care, inform public policy, and influence the healthcare ecosystem. The Director will help ensure that Madrigalâs voice is appropriately represented, its partnerships are strategically aligned, and its reputation as a scienceâdriven, patientâfocused organization continues to grow. Base salary is determined by factors including qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs and market demands. As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position, applicable to all candidates, is $212,000 â $259,000 per year. We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
