Job Description
Overview The Signaling and Train Control Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the construction, integration, testing, and commissioning of signaling and train control systems for a Light Rail Transit project. This role ensures that all signaling and train control works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, technical, regulatory, and safety requirements. Your role Manage the transition from design to construction and day‑to‑day construction activities related to signaling and train control systems, including field installation, integration, testing, and commissioning.
Coordinate signaling and train control contractors, suppliers, and interface stakeholders to ensure alignment with design intent and project schedule. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, safety regulations, and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. Monitor construction progress, review schedules, and implement recovery plans to address delays or conflicts.
Review and approve work plans, method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and construction submittals. Support system integration, trial running, and commissioning activities in coordination with operations, systems, and safety teams. Identify construction risks and issues, implement mitigation measures, and contribute to change management and cost control processes.
About You Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. Minimum 10 years of experience in rail transit projects, with at least 5 years in signaling and train control construction or systems delivery. Demonstrated experience with LRT, metro, or railway signaling systems.
Strong knowledge of construction safety practices, rail systems assurance, and regulatory approval processes. Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple contractors and interfaces.
