Implementation Engineer Department Engineering – IoT & Hardware Experience Location - Hyderabad, India Employment Type 2–5 Years Full-Time ZestIoT Technologies builds intelligent software for aviation ground operations. Our IoT layer is the foundation of real-time equipment tracking — powering arrival and departure detection, equipment connectivity events, and conveyor loading/unloading insights across airports worldwide. We are looking for a hands-on IoT Engineer to own the full lifecycle of our IoT devices — from assembly and configuration to customer deployment and ongoing health monitoring.
This role sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and customer success. Key Responsibilities: • Device Assembly & Readiness: • Own end-to-end device readiness processes for deployment across customer sites • Assemble, configure, and validate IoT devices (Teltonika, SICK, magnetic sensors, and equivalent hardware) • Implement device provisioning workflows, including firmware flashing and configuration standards • Maintain device inventory strategy, spares planning, and readiness SLAs Deployment & Customer Installation • Perform IoT device deployment across customer environments • Coordinate with customer stakeholders for installation planning and execution • Provide remote and on-site technical guidance during installations • Ensure successful deployment by validating data flow, event accuracy, and platform integration • Conduct training sessions and technical workshops for global customer teams on IoT systems, device usage, and installation best practices • Provide ongoing guidance and remote support to customer stakeholders to ensure successful adoption and operation of deployed solutions • Device Health, Monitoring & Reliability • Define and enhance device health monitoring frameworks (connectivity, battery, signal quality, event accuracy) • Proactively identify systemic issues and drive root cause analysis • Lead incident response for device outages and ensure SLA adherence Confidential • Data, Automation & Tooling • Use internal tools for monitoring, and log analysis • Identify repeatable problems and collaborate with engineering team to develop automation, diagnostics, and large-scale device management. • Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration • Create and maintain scalable documentation: runbooks, installation guides, troubleshooting playbooks • Act as a bridge between engineering, product, and customer success teams • Provide technical input into product improvements and feature roadmap • Ensure visibility of deployment and device health metrics across teams Required Skills & Qualifications IoT & Hardware • 2-4 years of experience in IoT systems, device deployment, or industrial IoT environments • Strong hands-on experience with device assembly, field deployment, and troubleshooting • Familiarity with Teltonika (FMB/TFT series), SICK sensors, or similar industrial IoT hardware • Understanding of communication protocols: MQTT, TCP/IP, RS-232/485, CAN bus, BLE • Experience with GPS tracking systems, proximity sensing, or edge computing devices • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and debug hardware issues in field environments Python & Software • Good to have understanding in Python for automation, scripting, and data analysis • Good to have knowledge of SQL for data validation and monitoring Soft Skills & Mindset • Customer-facing communication skills — clear, professional, and proactive • Strong ownership mindset — able to manage tasks end-to-end with minimal supervision • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple device deployments simultaneously • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving processes • Willingness to travel to customer sites for deployment and support when needed Confidential | Good to Have • Experience in aviation, airport operations, or logistics/fleet tracking domains • Knowledge of conveyor belt systems, baggage handling, or GSE (Ground Support Equipment) • Experience with dashboarding tools — Grafana, Kibana, or equivalent for device monitoring • Prior experience supporting enterprise customer deployments or installations Why ZestIoT • Work on real IoT at the edge — airports, aircraft, and ground equipment across global locations • Small team, high ownership — your work directly impacts customer experience • Exposure to the full stack — hardware, platform, and customer-facing product • Fast-moving startup with strong domain depth in aviation ground operations
