Program Manager - Defense Primary Location: Administrative Centre (CA) Organization: Aerospace Canada Employee Status: Regular Benefits Program Insurance plans (Dental, medical, life insurance, disability, and more) Competitive base salary Retirement savings plan Employee Assistance Program Tele Health Program Responsibilities Lead the planning and execution of complex projects, ensuring delivery within defined scope, timelines, and budget while meeting stakeholder expectations. Communicate project expectations effectively and in a timely manner to team members and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Facilitate the definition of project objectives, tasks, and resource requirements; resolve or contribute to resolving conflicts within projects, across projects, or between functions; implement progress tracking methods; and provide oversight as needed.
Manage project budgets and financial aspects. Interact regularly with clients to understand their needs and develop delivery plans. Work cross-functionally with various departments to resolve issues and implement changes.
Present oral and written reports on plans, issues, and solutions to appropriate levels of management. Understand the relationship between projects and the company’s strategic objectives, and maximize value-added activities. Additional Responsibilities Establish and continuously manage project expectations with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools, while identifying and managing dependencies and the critical path. Develop and deliver status reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Proactively perform risk management and mitigation activities.
Conduct lessons learned sessions when required. Be accountable for revenue and cash flow management. Qualifications Proven organizational, time management, and project leadership skills, with a strong understanding of financial principles.
Excellent understanding of aircraft design, integration, and manufacturing technologies. Ability to coordinate cross‑functional and cross‑company activities (engineering, operations, finance, customer service, etc.). Good knowledge of contractual terms, conditions, and subcontract management.
Experience operating under a Profit and Loss (P&L) model. Excellent communication skills, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities at all levels. Resilient, results‑driven, and action‑oriented individual with a strong commitment to delivering projects successfully.
Effective under pressure and tight deadlines; comfortable taking ownership and accountability. Collaborative team player demonstrating strong leadership potential. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, combined with more than 5 years of relevant experience.
PMP certification is considered an asset; candidates currently pursuing certification will also be considered. Proficiency in both French and English is essential.
