Power Electronics Engineer — 65W GaN USB-C PD Charger

About Us Dium Lucis Technologies (Vibetex) is a Chennai-based startup developing a 65W dual-port GaN USB-C PD charger. Role Lead Hardware Engineer — Power Stage, Firmware & Prototype Assembly Responsibilities Design and validate the 65W AC-DC power stage (QR Flyback / Active Clamp Flyback with GaN FET) Own schematic capture, PCB layout, and Gerber release end-to-end in KiCad Select components with focus on reliability, thermal performance, and long-term availability Integrate power stage with STM32G071 for USB PD 3.0 and PPS functionality Establish and operate hardware test and validation infrastructure Lead BIS IS 13252 pre-compliance and certification activities with consultants Deliver working prototype PCB within 10 weeks of joining Assemble and debug prototype PCBs using soldering equipment, rework stations, and basic hand tools Requirements 2–4 years of hands-on experience in switched-mode power supply (SMPS) design Demonstrated ownership of PCB layout from schematic to manufacturing data Strong component selection capabilities with reliability-first mindset Familiarity with embedded C and STM32 ecosystem (ADC, I2C/SPI, EEPROM interfacing) Comfort working in a fast-paced, factory setup environment Willingness to work on-site in Chennai Hands-on prototype assembly experience (SMD soldering, rework, bodge wiring) Preferred Experience with GaN FETs or high-frequency (>200 kHz) converter design Knowledge of USB PD 3.0, UCPD PHY, or PPS protocols Exposure to BIS, IEC, or UL safety certification processes Custom magnetics design (transformer / inductor) capability
