Job Description
An exciting leadership opportunity is available for an experienced executive to lead and drive the continued growth of a major industrial business across Canada. The Vice President & General Manager will hold full responsibility for the commercial, operational, and financial performance of the Canadian business, overseeing multiple business lines including packaged gases, bulk operations, hard goods, safety products, and filling plant operations. This role requires a strategic and commercially focused leader with a strong operational mindset, capable of leading a geographically diverse organization while driving growth, customer satisfaction, safety performance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Business & Financial Leadership Lead the overall performance and profitability of the Canadian business operations Maintain full P&L accountability across all business lines within the region Develop and execute commercial strategies to support revenue growth and market expansion Drive operational performance, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives Identify opportunities for business development, market expansion, and longâterm growth Support pricing strategy and commercial decisionâmaking to optimize profitability Monitor market trends, customer activity, and competitive developments across the industry Partner with senior leadership to support strategic planning and capital investment decisions Identify and mitigate operational, commercial, and financial risks Operational & Commercial Management Ensure safe, reliable, and costâeffective operations across all locations and facilities Lead initiatives focused on operational efficiency, customer service, and supply chain performance Work closely with operations, sales, marketing, finance, procurement, HR, and other enabling functions Support the development and execution of key account and market strategies Oversee responses to operational or business disruptions to minimize customer and commercial impact Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards Leadership & People Development Lead, develop, and mentor a highâperforming leadership team across Canada Promote a strong culture focused on safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Drive organizational effectiveness through strong communication and employee engagement Support talent development, succession planning, and leadership capability across the business Foster a customerâfocused and performanceâdriven culture throughout the organization Required Experience & Skills Leadership & Commercial Experience Proven senior leadership experience within industrial manufacturing, industrial gases, chemicals, distribution, or related sectors Strong commercial and operational leadership background with full P&L responsibility Experience leading multiâsite and geographically dispersed operations Demonstrated success driving growth, operational improvement, and business transformation Strong understanding of sales, operations, distribution, and customer management environments Experience working within complex industrial or processâdriven businesses preferred Core Competencies Strategic leadership and decisionâmaking capability Strong financial and commercial acumen Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Customerâfocused mindset with strong operational awareness Ability to lead change and drive organizational performance Collaborative leadership style with strong team development capability Strong problemâsolving and risk management skills Qualifications Bachelorâs degree required; advanced degree preferred 15+ years of progressive senior leadership experience Proven track record managing largeâscale operations and commercial organizations Experience within industrial gases or comparable industrial sectors strongly preferred Demonstrated success leading crossâfunctional teams and driving business performance #J-18808-Ljbffr
