Guardian Traffic Services is a local, family-owned traffic management company servicing Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Central Coast and regional NSW.

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Resource Allocator / Admin Officer to join our Cardiff team.

This is a key operational role responsible for coordinating crews and resources, managing operational changes, supporting clients and assisting with general administration.

This is a key operational role responsible for coordinating crews and resources, managing operational changes, supporting clients and assisting with general administration.

About the Role


Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating daily and forward crew allocations based on competencies, inductions, location and client requirements.

  • Managing employee availability, sick calls, cancellations and replacement personnel.

  • Coordinating vehicles, traffic signals and other operational resources.

  • Receiving and processing client bookings and changes.

  • Liaising with clients, field staff, supervisors and management.

  • Responding to urgent and short-notice operational requirements.

  • Maintaining accurate workforce and operational records.

  • Updating scheduling and workforce management systems.

  • Preparing spreadsheets, reports and correspondence.

  • General and ad hoc administrative duties as required.

Early-Morning & After-Hours Requirements


Due to the nature of the traffic control industry, this role includes regular early-morning coordination and participation in an after-hours on-call roster.

This may include managing sick calls, arranging replacement crews and responding to urgent client or operational changes.

Weekend and public holiday on-call coverage is also required as rostered.

After-hours and on-call responsibilities are compensated by a separate on-call allowance in addition to the base salary.

About You


We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience in scheduling, rostering, resource allocation or operations coordination.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Confidence dealing with employees and clients.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and make decisions quickly.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • A reliable and proactive approach.

  • Strong computer and administrative skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.

  • The ability to work independently and use sound judgement.

Experience in traffic control, civil construction, labour hire, transport, logistics or workforce scheduling will be highly regarded.

Knowledge of traffic control competencies, construction inductions, fatigue management and traffic management operations would also be advantageous.
