Casual Agency Shifts – RN & EN

About the opportunity

Medstar Nursing Care is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) and Enrolled Nurses (EN) for residential aged care shifts across Sydney and New South Wales.

This role requires current AHPRA registration as an RN or EN.

We have opportunities available for:

  • Casual and ad hoc agency shifts

  • Short-term contracts

  • Flexible weekday, evening, night, weekend and public holiday shifts

You will deliver safe, compassionate, person-centred care that supports residents' dignity, independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities (within your scope of practice)

  • Assess residents' clinical needs and help develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans

  • Administer medications safely and monitor their effectiveness

  • Conduct clinical assessments, monitor vital signs and report changes in residents' conditions

  • Identify and respond to clinical deterioration

  • Provide wound care, catheter management and other clinical procedures as required

  • Keep accurate, timely clinical notes and resident records

  • Work with doctors, allied health professionals and the wider care team

  • Support and supervise personal care workers (RNs also oversee ENs as required)

  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures

  • Deliver care in line with facility policies, professional standards and the Aged Care Quality Standards

Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) or Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) – essential

  • At least 6 months' experience as an RN or EN in residential aged care

  • Current National Police Check

  • Current CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain one before starting

  • Current influenza and COVID-19 vaccination records

  • Full Australian working rights

  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills

  • Availability for flexible shifts

  • Experience with electronic clinical documentation or aged care systems (preferred)
