This job will most likely fall under NOC 11100.Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full cycle accounting duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  • Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Use SAP to record, analyze, and report financial data accurately
  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, including additions, disposals, and depreciation tracking
  • Prepare variance analysis (standard vs. actual costs) and provide insights to management
  • Reconcile inventory accounts and support physical inventory counts
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to improve cost efficiency
  • Support audits by providing required documentation and explanations

    Health & Safety Responsibilities

    • Comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, including worker duties under Section 28

    • Follow all company health and safety rules, regulations, and procedures

    • Adhere to established safety, quality, environmental, and housekeeping standards

    • Report hazards, near misses, incidents, defects, or compliance issues promptly

    • Participate in investigations and provide input on corrective actions

    • Uphold workplace violence and harassment prevention policies (Bill 168)

    • Attend required Environmental Health and Safety training

    • Understand and exercise the right to refuse unsafe work

      Education & Experience Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, CPA a plus
      • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
      • Hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP systems
      • Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory accounting
      • Experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
      • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
