The Opportunity
\n This company is seeking an experienced and hands-on Financial Accountant to join their Finance team on a 6-month contract. This role has been created to support the business following the implementation of a new ERP system, with a strong focus on balance sheet integrity, intercompany reconciliations, and financial reporting across Australian and foreign entities. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong accountant who thrives in a post-implementation environment and enjoys resolving legacy issues, improving processes, and strengthening controls.
The Role
\n Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in stabilising and strengthening the finance function.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing ongoing balance sheet reconciliations
\n
• Performing detailed intercompany reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
\n
• Investigating and resolving system migration or posting discrepancies
\n
• Assisting with preparation of group financial statements
\n
• Supporting the audit process, including preparation of working papers
\n
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to validate balances and resolve discrepancies
\n
• Taking full responsibility of month-end and year-end close activities
\n
• Recommending and implementing process and control improvements
\n

This role requires someone proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently to deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.\n

About You
You are a technically strong Financial Accountant with experience working in a group environment. You are comfortable navigating complexity, investigating discrepancies, and working hands-on within systems.\n
\n You will bring:\n
\n

\n
• Proven experience as a Financial Accountant in a group structure
\n
• CA or CPA qualification (preferred)
\n
• Strong experience in balance sheet reconciliations
\n
• A solid understanding of accounting standards and audit requirements
\n
• ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365 highly regarded)
\n
• Advanced Excel skills
\n
• The ability to prioritise, work autonomously, and meet deadlines
\n
