Working alongside the Nurse Manager, youll play a key role in leading the nursing team, supporting residents and driving consistently high standards of care.

About the Role

This is a varied position combining clinical nursing with supernumerary management responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to develop your leadership skills without stepping away from what you enjoy most making a genuine difference to peoples lives.

Youll work closely with the Nurse Manager to ensure the service operates safely, effectively and to a consistently high standard, while helping to create a positive and supportive environment for both residents and staff.

Your Responsibilities

• Support the Nurse Manager with the leadership and day-to-day management of the nursing team.
• Provide clinical guidance, supervision and support to nursing staff.
• Promote high standards of mental health, clinical and person-centred care.
• Support the development, implementation and review of individual care plans.
• Complete clinical audits and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
• Ensure relevant policies, procedures and regulatory standards are consistently followed.
• Assist with staff rotas, scheduling and workforce planning.
• Identify training and development needs and support staff induction and ongoing education.
• Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, colleagues and external healthcare professionals.
• Promote a safe, respectful, inclusive and supportive environment.
• Step up and take responsibility for the service in the Nurse Managers absence when required.

What Were Looking For

Were looking for a nurse who can combine strong clinical knowledge with compassion, leadership and excellent communication skills.

Youll need:

• Current Registered Nurse status with an active NMC PIN.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a senior nursing role.
• Experience within mental health, care home, nursing home or a comparable healthcare setting is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making abilities.
• The confidence to manage competing clinical and operational priorities.
• A genuine commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality, person-centred care.
• The ability to motivate, support and develop those around you.
