Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Developer with strong experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and services. The role requires strong programming fundamentals, hands-on experience with modern backend technologies, API development, databases, microservices, and cloud environments.

Experience or exposure to data engineering is a significant advantage, as the role involves working with data-centric systems, analytics platforms, and data-intensive applications.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and applications.
\n
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and web services for internal and external applications.
\n
• Build and maintain microservices-based architectures and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
\n
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including database design, queries, optimization, and performance tuning.
\n
• Implement secure, reliable, and high-performance backend solutions.
\n
• Integrate applications with third-party systems, services, and APIs.
\n
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
\n
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
\n
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture/design decisions.
\n
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, Data Engineering, and other technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.
\n
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and application monitoring.
\n
• Maintain clear technical documentation for backend services and APIs.
\n

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on backend development experience using Java, Python, or Node.js.
\n
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
\n
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, microservices, and web services.
\n
• Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
\n
• Good understanding of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or similar technologies.
\n
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
\n
• Hands-on exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
\n
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
\n
• Strong understanding of application scalability, performance optimization, security, and system design.
\n
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
\n

Good-to-Have – Data Engineering Exposure

• Experience or exposure to ETL/data pipelines.
\n
• Familiarity with Kafka, batch processing, or stream processing.
\n
• Understanding of data lakes and data warehouses, including Snowflake or open-source platforms.

• Experience working with real-time data flows and event-driven architectures.

• Basic understanding of data modelling and analytics platforms.

• Experience integrating backend services with data/analytics applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
\n
• 6+ years of professional experience in backend development.
\n
• Proven experience building and maintaining scalable, production-grade backend applications and services.
\n
• Experience working with large-scale systems and distributed/microservices architectures.
\n
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
\n
