Senior Cost Analyst - Contract 6 Months

Our internationally known CPG client is seeking a hands-on Senior Cost Analyst for a 6-month contract to support post-implementation optimization following the rollout of SAP S/4HANA. The role is hybrid within office 3 days a week (T/W/TH) and work remote 2 days from home.

This role will focus on analyzing and resolving material Purchase Price Variances (PPVs) that are impacting financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate and analyze Purchase Price Variances (PPVs) across materials and product lines
• Identify root causes of PPVs, including FX impacts, intercompany transactions, margin eliminations, and true cost changes
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Procurement, FP&A) to validate findings and implement solutions
• Work directly within SAP S/4HANA to extract, validate, and interpret costing data
• Build and maintain detailed data models to support variance analysis and reporting
• Provide clear insights and recommendations to improve costing accuracy and financial reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
• Proven experience as a Senior Financial Analyst/Senior Cost Analyst with a strong focus on costing and variance analysis
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA (required)
• Deep understanding of Purchase Price Variances (PPVs) and standard costing methodologies
• Strong analytical and data skills with the ability to work through complex datasets
• Problem-solving mindset with a curiosity to dig into root causes and “solve the puzzle”
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Nice to Have

• Experience in a manufacturing or consumer goods environment
• Exposure to post-ERP implementation environments
